Hot diggety! A new blog engine!

H

I’ve been admiring the new look of my friend Ben’s web site for a few months now, and today I took the plunge and upgraded my own site to NucleusCMS, the blog engine he uses. You’re looking at it right now. Isn’t it cool?!

This new software has a much more active developer community than bBlog did, so there are loads of nice templates and plugins available. I’m really looking forward to adding a photo gallery like Ben has, but that will take a little more fiddling than I am willing to take on at this hour.

For now, I am content to have the base package installed and working and all my previous posts migrated. Life is good.

  • Interestingly enough, it may be that Central Cortex is the only conduit by which germin8.net is linked into the greater hypertext cloud of the internet. I’ve never submitted it to any of the major portals, and don’t know anybody else that links to it.

Glad to see that NucleusCMS is working for you. Isn’t there some module or option somewhere that lets a member request email notification when items are posted???

  • Hey, Ben! Thanks for commenting. As for your question, gosh, I don’t know. I don’t see that option for anyone but myself in the admin settings, but I will research a little more to see if I’ve missed anything.

By the way, I have also installed Gallery2. It’s not integrated with the rest of the site yet, but it’s accessible at http://therem.net/gallery

Thanks for paving the way. And I’ve been enjoying your blog posts. The Mordor saga was gripping!
